The Japan Society for History Text Book (JSHT) is a General incorporated Association in Tokyo, Japan.

The objectives of JSHT shall be the production, planning, and proposal of new history and civics textbooks, as well as other types of textbooks, and the distribution of those textbooks to children and students..

JHST visit to education facilities in Sri Lanka, Sept 2015

We shall engage in the following business activities in order to accomplish the objectives described in the preceding article:
(1) The planning and proposal of new history and civics textbooks, as well as other types of textbooks that draw upon the newest developments in scholarly research,
(2) The encouragement of efforts to analyze, conduct research on, and improve the systems that govern the approval and selection of school textbooks.
(3) The promotion of lectures, seminars, and other events pertaining to history education,
(4) The publication of bulletins and other communication materials.
(5) Involvement in other business activities that pertain to the preceding items.

JSHT is basically a research organization in the field of human rights and history in order to accomplish our aim for planning and proposal of new textbooks.
We are also a grass-roots project implementation organization since we have several thousand members to implement our projects.

We have collected considerable amount of valuable records and documents through our past activities.
In particular, there is a good stock of information written in Japanese language, but not translated into English.
That stock of information is an excellent source of information, and we shall utilize it for our purposes.
